After my previous hair care post, I thought I'd delve into some more of the products I've been using to try and make me fall in love with styling my hair again. After a rummage I realised I somehow have a whole bundle of L'Oreal haircare products that have been my ride or dies for years now so wanted to give them a quick mention on the blog.
Cutting straight to the chase.. L'Oreal Elvive Shampoos & Conditioners are EVERYTHING. I've tried nearly every brand under the sun from Aussie to Pantene, from Tresemme to Herbal Essences - you name it, I've most probably tried it. But once I popped the L'Oreal Elvive Full Restore Shampoo & Conditioner in my basket, years ago, I haven't really looked back and L'Oreal has been my go to brand for all things hair care.
As you may already know the L'Oreal Elvive Shampoo &a Conditioner range is EXTENSIVE. I think there must be at least 5/6 different branches of the line, all promising different results and finishes and honestly I am yet to be totally disappointed. My favourite from the line has to be the Fibrology Thickening Shampoo & Conditioner as I saw a significant difference to how my hair felt and looked. Being such a lover of the line I even got my hands on L'Oreal's Fibrology Thickening Masque which again worked wonders and has been a constant repurchased product of mine. The shampoo and conditioner gave me noticeably more volume and thickness and left my hair smelling and feeling super clean!
Out of all the Shampoo & Conditioners on offer by L'Oreal I think my least favourite has to be their new "Extraordinary Clay" line. I picked this up with so many high hopes for their new launch but for some reason I was less than "wowed". Don't get me wrong, it's a lovely shampoo and conditioner but it was nothing that impressed me enough to repurchase it. So back to the Fibrology or Extraordinary Oil Shampoo & Conditioner combo I go.
Speaking of Extraordinary Oil - Another L'Oreal product that's become a life saver over recent months is the Extraordinary Oil for all hair types. I apply a pea side amount to this to the ends of my hair before blow drying and not only does it add a sleek shine it somehow also helps my hair dry quicker? (They don't even claim it does this but for some reason it does for me). It's super affordable and lasts absolutely ages, after around 6 months of using the product I am yet to even reach the half way mark and the glass bottle makes it feel a little more luxurious!
The next step I take before blow drying my hair with my GHD Air Hair Dryer is to add some sort of heat resistance spray. L'Oreal's Heat Protect Styling Spray has been one of the favourite hair protecting sprays I've tried to date. I know this sounds a little lame but.. the slightly fanned spray nozzle is perfect as distributing the products all over my hair and after two squeezes I'm good to go. I only apply this to the ends of my hair as I've found it can lead to a little greasiness when too much product builds up on my scalp. Don't be too fussy when it comes to choosing the straight or volume version of the spray as I am yet to see any difference between the two.
Everyone and their mum knows how amazing the L'Oreal Elnett Hair Spray is so speaking about this in too much detail won't be really necessary. But I will say, this will always be my go-to day to day hair spray to lock in my tease and add a little bit of volume. I love how easily the product brushes out and I don't get the firm, hard hair that other hairsprays leave me with. Perfect for everyday :)
So now I can chill out with L'Oreal and stop making this sound like a sponsored post (I swear it's not) I've just come to realise how great L'Oreal's haircare line really is and wanted to share some of my favourite bits with my readers.
