What's On My Face? // Everyday Make Up Routine

What's On My Face? // Everyday Make Up Routine

I am a woman of routine and habits. Waking up early every day to get to work on time means during the week I have very little time to experiment with the bundle of make-up I own; so I always reach for my usual Holy Grail products that I know can do me no wrong.

I thought I’d share some of my favourite products that I find easy and quick to apply for those weekdays where I have no time to make a huge effort, but still want to look somewhat acceptable.

Base:
Obviously the first thing I reach for in the morning is my Maybelline – Baby Skin primer (which won my Ultimate Drugstore Primer Battle) I apply a small amount of this all over my face and down my neck to keep my foundation in place throughout the day.

Foundation:
My favourite foundation is by Supercover Professional Make Up. (Read my review here) This is great to use when in a rush because it applies to easily and gives me an even, flawless coverage in seconds. I've done a whole blog post on this product so give it a read for more details.

Concealer:
I then apply my Maybelline – Eraser Eye Concealer under my eyes to get rid of those dark circles and to hopefully make me look somewhat awake. When all I want to do is creep back into bed and get under the duvet. With a light dust of Ben Nye – Banana Powder my concealer is set.

Contour:
I know contouring isn’t a part of everyone’s everyday routine but since I’ve found a really simple and practical method it takes no time at all. Again I use my Supercover foundation but this time I reach for shade 28 which is around 3 shades darker than my skin tone. I apply this to the usual places (Hollows of my cheeks, jaw, nose and forehead) and blend this in using my elf blush brush. I then go over this with Bourjois - Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder (the one that looks like a bar of chocolate) and this warms up my skin tone.

Eyes:
I know most people do their eye make-up BEFORE applying their foundation but I just find this method works best for me. I keep the eyes pretty simple. Using my  MUA - Intense Colour Eyeliner Pencil in black and run this across my lower waterline. To set this in place and stop it smudging it lightly apply a thin line of Soap & Glory – Supercat liquid eyeliner pen underneath (review here). Next time for mascara, this is where I think I go a little over the top.. I use a combination of Benefit - They're Real / Rimmel London - Wonderfull Mascara / Soap and Glory - Thick and Fast HD Mascara and I LOVE the final result this gives me.
